In late April 2011, I learned about "aquaponics." It looked intriguing, and I decided I wanted to give it a try. Since we were finishing the renovation of our house in South Pasadena, California, this seemed like a good time to start.
I don't recall where, now, but I had seen a link to a guy's blog about how his family turned their in-ground pool into a very successful aquaponics setup, complete with chickens and fish (GardenPool.org, if you're interested - it's really neat!). Since I'm fairly certain my husband doesn't want chickens around the house, and we're on a corner lot, and our lot is fairly small, we're not going to be keeping chickens. Might look into rabbits, though. I like stewed rabbit.
Now, on Star Wars Day (May the Fourth), I am starting this blog in order to track what I'm doing, how I'm doing it, sharing my links and resources, and likely asking folks out there for some feedback.
